About Me:
I'm a skier wannabe trail runner - I hate the road (with a passion), but I'll gladly pound pavement to get to my favorite trail. These days, I'm preparing for the 2008 Transrockies Run in Colorado - Feel free to tag along for the 'run'...

Cool Toy for Trail Runners

Last February, I was invited to tag along Salomon's crew of elite runners for a week of product testing on the French Riviera just outside Marseille. During this camp, we were introduced to a new partnership between Nokia and Salomon which would serve to promote their new NSeries Phones. As a result, the Salomon Mobile Blogs were created, which allow you t… Continue

Mud Anyone?

I always love the anticipation of that first 'race' effort... A week ago I looked at the forecast and smiled..."Oh, it's going to be a muddy one!" I was almost giggling at the thought of slippin' and slidin' on Calgary Olympic Park's (COP) clay surface, which was scheduled to host the first Saab/Salomon 5 Peaks Series event in Alberta. Enough Already!

Another foot of snow in Canmore yesterday... As sick as I am of this white stuff, I convinced myself to head to Silver Star for a week-long spring training camp with the newly formed Alberta World Cup Academy. Another Blast of Winter!

OK, enough with the white stuff...I'm ready for summer. Canmore's been stuck with mid-winter conditions for about a week now, and it's driving me nuts. What's with Mother Nature these days? This morning, it was -8C, and another 3cm of snow covered the ground. What the shit?! Enough already. That said, last weekend's record 70cm snowfall (24hrs) at Sunshine was nothing short of epic. I just happen to be booked in the Sunshine Village Hotel (thanks Kellie...and Alpine Homes!) on the 'morning aft… Continue

Nipika Adventure

"If you come out this week, I'm sure we can find some trouble" - Lyle Wilson, owner of Nipika Mountain Resort It doesn't take much to get me hooked on an adventure, so when Lyle threw out the line, I jumped! Nipika Mountain Resort remains one of my favorite trail running destinations. It's about 1.5hr drive from Canmore straight South (via hwy 93 South), and borders Kootenay National Park. Lyle (ex-National Team coach) moved to the Invermere area following hi… Continue
